Twins.

Its interesting to be a twin. Since we live so far away from each other, its almost like you forget that you have someone with matching DNA in the world with you.

In my mind, Kelly is just a sister...a sister who is extremely close in age to me.

It isnt until we are in the same town that we realize that we look alike I guess. Of course in our minds, we couldn't look any more different, but to the outside world, I guess we look alot more alike than we realize.

On our most recent trip we had a few twin trip ups.

Brynn dislocated her elbow (FOR THE THIRD TIME!) so we had to rush down to the Drs office to get it popped back in. While we were walking ino the Drs office, there was this big Hawaiian Lady with a broken leg staring at us. I figured that it was because we were so white, almost glowing in the bright sun. Until she said "Hi Kelly!"

"Oh no, I am just her twin sister"
"I didn't know she had a twin!"

So funny. She must have been thinking "Who is that guy she is walking with and what happened to Enoka and Elias? (My sisters Husband and son, who are part Hawaiian, and obviously not as white as my Haole Family)

I told me sister about it, and she didn't know who the woman was, until a couple days later, one of her "Clients" (AKA: Parolee -- she is a Parole Officer) came and mentioned she had met her twin

Another time, Chad and I were at our romantic dinner, and the waitress was taking our order, and was looking at me with narrowed eyes....as if she was thinking very carefully, I thought she was trying to size me up if I was really 21 or not (Hey, a girl can dream cant she?)

"Do you want that blended or on the rocks -KELLY?"

This particular waitress used to work with Kelly back in the day at another restaurant.

So funny, later in the trip Kelly and I got to talking about all the funny times that people mistook us.

Kelly told me about a time she was living in Oregon, and driving down the freeway and this guy was in the next lane keeping speed with her and just STARING at her. She said she was all freaked out that he was some murderer rapist. Until finally he yelled from across the freeway "KRISTIN???" --- that's when she realized he was trying to figure out what the hell i was doing in Oregon.

She said she pulled over and talked to him awhile and explained she was my twin sister. It was my good friend at the time (this is before chad)....but I am still not sure she should have pulled over for some random dude like that...but it turned out fine.

Another time, my sister was in line for a Club in Maui, this is probably my most favorite story.

She was standing in line with her friends and she said some guy just came up to her and kissed her right on the mouth. She totally push him off of her, but then realized it was one of my "Stoner Friends" (her words, not mine) from High School and he thought she was Kristin......
Um, let me just say that that would have been a weird occurrence even if it WERE me standing there...I know this guy, he must have been WAY out of it to have guts like that.

too funny. I love being a twin! good times.
