This afternoon in the hustle and bustle of getting both kids fed, clean and all jammied up...my girls where simultaneously following me around whining or crying for one reason or the other.
Finally, the the instinctual nursing mother that I am: I pick my daughter up, lay her sideways across my belly and whip out the boob ready for a nursing session and just a bit of silence. Only, this time, I notice no nursing going on...which is odd...usually Audrey jumps on that thing like white on rice.
I look down, only to see my 2 year old Brynn laying across me in my arms with her brows furrowed with a look of concern and confusion.
"Mommy, thats Audreys Boobie!" Brynn said.
Oh my, what a hoot! I totally didn't realize I had picked up Brynn instead of Audrey!
Brynn and I just busted out laughing...She thought I was joking...little did she know Mommy is in desperate need of a solid Eight.

MooBees!!!
Yesterday Brynn and I had a special mommy/daughter trip. I took her to her first trip to the Movie theatre (as Brynn calls it "Moobees")
Brynn felt so special. I got her dressed, put her hair in a pretty bun, and she got a little blush on her cheeks (or at least she brushed the brush on her cheeks, there was no actual make-up on it) and lip gloss on her mouth. She was super excited.
I brought a special blanket and we got popcorn and lemonade ($15!) and snuggled up as the lights went down. She really enjoyed the film. We went and saw UP. I really didn't think that she would last the whole movie, but to my surprise, she sat there almost the whole time.
Unfortunately the last 20 minutes she made 3 bathroom trips...so she was a little restless. But she did great and really enjoyed her first trip to the movies!

9 months.
Audrey has officially been outside my belly as long as she was in my belly. *sniff*sniff* she is growing up too fast! Pregnancy seemed to last WAY longer than these last 9 months.
Here is what 9 month old Audrey looks like:
- 4 teeth and there with more on the way. Its been rough...
- as far as milestones...not much has changed: crawling, pulling to stand, cruising furniture, walking with her cart or holding our fingers.
- Has really caught on to eating solids (well, mush) and some finger foods.
- very vocal...this girl loves to TALK! I got the cutest video but it wont uplaod GRRR!!!
- Sleeps absolutely horribly! I swear...I think she left a tracking device in my uterus because if I am in the room with her she is up ever hour on the hour lately...so I have started to sleep in Brynns room and last night she slept from 7-4am! Whats up with that??? This is why we need 3 bedrooms...
- She is a mamas girl and I love it and will cherish it because I know its only a matter of time before she wants nothing to do with me.
- We have had to put up our gates again...*someone* -not naming names here- enjoys splashing in the dog water a little to much!
So I have three months before Audrey will turn one and enter into toddlerhood (two toddlers, can you imagine!)...the accountant in me says I have one quarter left (an off quarter, but a quarter nonetheless) which is not long at all!
I am so sad that I am almost done with babies, but excited for what the future will bring and looking forward to watching both of my girls blossom and grow beautifully...its what life is all about. I am so so lucky and feel so blessed to have my wonderful little family Chad and I have created. I wouldn't trade it for the world (or even sleep)

The Sleeplesss Lifestyle...
Yes thats right people! I have decided to adopt a new lifestyle!
Rather than complain about my lack of sleep, and pine for sweet slumber...I have decided to embrace my lifestyle almost as if its my choice NOT to sleep. Yes, I will embrace it and enjoy all of its benefits and laugh at those of you who get your full nights sleep. HAHA! You dont know what your missing...
You see, those of us who enjoy the "sleepless lifestyle" enjoy these (among many) benefits:
1) Since you are up so many more hours you have so much more time to ponder:
a) life and whats wrong with you and how your parents screwed you up
b) stupid things your husband does and how his parents screwed him up
c) So much more time to stress out about work and the piles of project on your desk and how are you ever going to get it all done by hard close.
2) The looks:
a) those dark bags under your eyes is not ugly...it actually brings out the color in your eyes...kinda like a black background on a picture...really makes that color POP!
b) and that I-haven't-slept-since-October-and-I-dont-give-a-crap-what-I-look-like look is SO in! Your friends will be so jealous that your look is so effortless (because it is!)
3) Looking like an idiot
a) Too tired to spell
b) to tired to have adult conversation that isn't filled with sudden pauses while your brain shuts off...
c) too tired to really make any sense.
-> you may be asking yourself "Kristin, I see no benefit here?" well, you see: you look like an idiot, so no one will ask you to do anything beyond the bare minimum...you don't need a raise, bonus or promotion anyway right?
4) That special time with your little one:
a) You may be nursing all night long, and you may or may not feel like your you-know-what is going to fall off by sunrise...but think about all that special cuddle time! (actually, this really is a benefit)

I realized today when I was picking Brynn up from Preschool that she has been there for 6 months now....which means that she is just about to hit the 2.5 year old mark!
lets see, what can I say about brynni brynn.
well, for one thing, we really feel like we have gotten over the huge bump(hill) that is the most difficult part of the terrible twos. We can now reason with our little girl and when we explain WHY the answer is no, she may not like it, but she doesn't rip sh** up like she used to...so that's a relief!
She is incredibly conversational...I love hearing her "stories"...mainly about school...and when she gets a hold of a story, especially one that gets a reaction, she repeats, repeats, repeats.
For example...one time, Chad and his friend watched the 4 kids while the moms when out for dinner...well, the little boy, Thomas, grabbed a knife off of the kitchen counter and scratched Brynn with it(we are talking microscopic scratches)...of course the dads where right there and stopped it immediately...and Thomas got a serious time out...it was pretty scary to hear the story, but no harm no foul. Well, Brynns story goes like this:
"Thomas knife! Thomas cut, ouchie my arm, scratch my arm...Thomas time out, time out Thomas! Thomas Ouchie"
Well, now anytime we say Thomas' name we get the story. But she has not let the abuse deter her...I guess she likes her men rough...
Her favorite catch phrase is "Awe MAAAAAN!" and she says it all exaggerated its hilarious!
She loves to sing. If she isn't eating, sleeping, or talking, she is singing. She loves to sing. She will sit in front of the computer with Chad or I on you tube ask us play songs over and over and she will try to learn the words. Right now her favorites are "In the Jungle" and "I like to move it move it"
In the car she will sing the whole way there and if you try to sing along she will say "Stop it! I sing!"
She is recently obsessed with names, today in the car she was asking me:
whats Mommy name?
whats Daddy name?
whats Audrey name?
Then she will repeat our names:
Chad : "Chat"
Kristin: "Sitsing"
Audrey: "Ahjee"
Brynn: "Bin"
What else...oh yes: Her Hair:
I am debating over what to do about her hair...
Its so cute and gorgeous...but its always in her face, and she refuses to keep it in a pony tail or anything else. So I am considering cutting it, but I am so attached to those gorgeous long curls...and I am also scared about having to deal with up keeping those bangs...I am just holding out hope she will soon become obsessed with having her hair up nice and pretty (hey, it could happen!)
As I mentioned earlier, she has been at preschool for 6 months now, and she is doing great! She has learned so much and her school really has so many great things:
Spanish Music
Kids on the move
they have parades and picnics that the parents can come watch
In the summer, they will have water slide day where they rent one of those big water slide thingys and the kids have a blast!
Art, tons of art.
I really can't say enough about her preschool, I am just so happy we decided to put her in it!
I love going to pick her up at the end of the day and watching her run around with her friends. Its so cute how they play pretend. The other day they were running around pretending to drive cars, and all of a sudden one of them yelled out: "Lets eat Marshmallows!" and the girls cheered out it unison "YEAH!" and they ran over to these colored ball things on the play ground and pretended to eat them like marshmallows.
So thats about all I can think of, she is just such a doll, the light of our lives. I am so blessed to have her as my daughter.

Finally this two kid thing is paying off!
The other night, Brynn fed Audrey an entire jar of baby food all by herself! I started feeding Audrey and Brynn said that she wanted to so we let her thinking it would just spill or she would swing it around a couple times and move on.
Much to our suprise it worked perfectly! HA!
The benefits are two-fold:
1) The Baby gets fed
2) The toddler is entertained

A Parking Spot
One thing that totally fascinates me is how the little teeny tiny choices we make in life can make a HUGE impact on our lives, and even the world.
It was Thursday night everyone was staying at the Hotel in the town where my aunt was getting treatment so they all headed to the hot tub while my Nana and I stayed behind with Ms. Audrey for some chit chat...we were talking about the show Mad Men...have any of you seen it? The first season in on Demand right now and I watched it last weekend and got totally hooked! Anyways, we were talking about the accuracy of the show: the 3 Martini lunches, smoking at work (well, smoking everywhere), the way women in the workplace were treated even the bangs on one of the character...my Nana said she had bangs just like that.
During this conversation, I asked my Nana how she met my Grandpa and she told me the coolest story (or at least, I find it totally interesting)
Her aunt Peggy was moving to Virginia Beach because her husband was in the Navy. My Nana went down to Virginia Beach with her to help her look at houses. She was about 18 at the time and she worked for Capital Airlines so she got her and Peggy a flight down there for free.
So one night, Peggy wanted to go to the Bars and my Nana was driving since she didn't drink (or smoke). Peggy wanted to go to one more place and my Nana was not really feeling it so she said "Peggy, I am going around the block one more time and if I don't find a parking spot then we are going home" Little did she know how significant finding a parking spot would be to her life...and mine!
Sure enough, she headed around the block and found a spot and in the bar they headed. In the bar she sat next to a southern man named Robert, they hit it off and he asked to call her sometime...they kept in touch once she returned to Ohio...and eventually she moved down south to be closer to him...
...long story short that southern gentleman was my grandpa and if weren't for that parking spot, she would have just kept driving, her life headed in a completely different direction who knows where she would have ended up.
She would never have had her four girls, 8 grandkids and 6 great=grandkids (and counting, there are only 3 of us grand kids over 20)
I don't know why but I found this story totally cool..I just had to write it out for my blurb book!

Three Stacks and a Rock...
We spent the 3 day weekend visiting family on the Central Coast. It was great to see my aunt in good spirits as well as all the rest of my family that came together for the weekend. My Nana got to meet Audrey as well as my other aunt. My mom got a little bit more time with the girls which is always special considering the distance...
Audrey got TWO more teeth while we were down there...so sleep was near non-existent.
Brynn displayed her arsenal of Songs she knows...and we sang songs most of the time in the car. It was really really fun, and it never got old (although I swear I sang the ABCs thousands of times this weekend)!
I had no idea she knew so many songs!
She can't sing them word for word, but if you sing with her, she is almost there:
