2 1/2 hours...

that is how long Audrey cried tonight...

it wasnt crying straight for 2 hours it was 10 minutes of silence followed by 10 minutes of crying.

With everyone standing by wanting to help, but all she wants is her mommy and some mystery rocking/temp/position/etc

I dont know if it was gas, I dont know if it was overtiredness...my mom said she is a new born and it is normal. I know but it still SUCKS!

Just wanted to write this out so I remember it wasnt all lollipops and sunshine if I ever get baby fever I will just come here and read this... *wink*

Beautiful Sunset

This evening, Brynn and I walked down to the beach together to watch the sunset. Of course I got the call from my mom at oh, about right before the sun actually set to get home right away because audrey was hungry but eh, what are you going to do.

Anyways, it was beautiful...it has been so long since I have seen the sun set into the water like that...something I didnt take advantage of when I was growing up. Brynn was more interested in the other kids...all little girls she called "Macy!" she thought it was her BFF Macy. LOL! Here are some pics

The train went right by us...prob Brynns favorite part.

a trip to Del Mar!

a trip to Del Mar!
12/28/08
I cannot think of a better way to spend the last days of 2008 than hanging out with my family in Del Mar, CA. We went down to Del Mar the day after Christmas, and even though the actual travel portion of the trip was pretty rough, so far we are having a great time. Just hanging out with family, enjoying the beautiful scenery that Del Mar has to offer.
Sleep wise we are doing MUCH better. We are staying in the guest house and it makes a world of differnce with the girls. Everyone is sleeping great down here. Great Grandma is not helping my quest to get off the baby weight. We are surrounded by cookies and pies and cinamon rolls...everynight is a feast...Oy, my pants are getting tighter just thinking about it!
Brynn and Audrey have been getting plenty "Nana Time" she goes down to the beach everyday and plays at the park. Both girls are absolutly in love with her Maui family. Auntie Kisa is always a favorite. It just been nice to be around those that I love so much, yet rarely get to see.

Remembering Whats Important

Remembering Whats Important
December 16th, 2008
In the hustle and bustle of life, especially when
you have a newborn and a toddler to tend to,
it is far too easy to forget what is important in life.
With keeping the house in order, planning christmas
events, parties and presents, chasing after toddler
Brynn, nursing Audrey, trying to give my girls each
special time with all the other goings on, managing
finances, LAUNDRY tons of laundry. It seems as
though chad and I had forgotten to take a second to
remember to tend to each other and our own
relationship.
Its so easy to neglect the relationship that brought us here in the first place. I love Chad so much, I don't think I tell him enough how much he means to me. We have been together for Eight years now, and I remember in the "early days" how it was just him and I, it was obviously a lot easier to have alone time to just chat and have adult conversation where we are not talking about Brynn going #2 on the potty, or how many times Audrey woke up
last night. I want to make sure that we
remember to take time to show love & just
ask "How are you doing, how was your day"
At the end of life, it wont matter if I was
caught up on laundry or what my credit score
was, or if I was able to keep up with the mass
amounts of dishes, or ifI let my toddler leave
crap everywhere or watch toomuch Elmo.
What is going to matter are the relationships
I have formed & the love we created & shared
and the children that came of that love.
THAT is what is important.
And I hope I never forget that.

The Fog Has Lifted...

It is 5:30pm....I have been home with both girls all day (which started at 6 this morning after a rough night, I might add) and I have not cried all day, I have not lost my temper all day, nor have I day dreamed about running away to Canada and changing my name.

I actually feel....dare I say it? NORMAL?

I was able to put Brynn down for a nap, I was able to put Audrey down for a nap not in my arms which meant I had a 2 hour period where my body was not occupied by another human being.

I was able to feed 3 solid meals to Brynn and snacks (and bottles)

I even kept my cool when Brynn peed through 5 pairs of panites and on the floor.

I was even able to get both girls in the bath together and then got them dried and dressed.

I think I might be getting the hang of this...WOW!

Although I do have to confess Brynn watched 2 hours of TV today with Sesame Street and her favorite Elmo DVD(does anyone know how to break an elmo addiction)anyways, this is very exciting for me!

I remember when Brynn was born it was a HUGE adjustment...I honestly didnt start feeling *normal* until she was 3 months old.

I was talking to a RL friend of mine yesterday and she asked me if I could go back, would I have spaced it out more and I thought about it, and I said No.

I think that 2 kids is just freaking ridiculously difficult, and there is just no "easy" time to do it.
Even if she was like 3 when I had Audrey, eh, I still think it would be a challenge.

Maybe it would be nice to have been OUT of diapers before adding another box of diapers to the list but there is no gaurantee when your toddler would be ready KWIM?

I guess my answer is a little skewed because I love Audrey so so so much...BOTH girls are my world.

And now that they are here, I wouldnt want to change when I had them because then they wouldnt be them...if that makes sense. It took us 10 months to conceive Brynn and as hard as it was to wait that long to get pregnant, I am happy it happened when it did because it was Brynn...not sure if this is making sense or not.

Its Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Its Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!
Today we put up our tree! We actually got our treeat Costco this year for $29 and its a beautiful tree! I tried to talk Chad into a fake tree this year. Mainly because I don't want to deal with the cleanup of pine needles and the fear of Brynn tipping over thetree horrifies me. But in Retrospect, I am glad he said no. It smells SO nice in our house. Notice that only half of the tree is decorated? Brynn is enjoying the decorations she gets so excited when we turn the lights on.Audrey likes checking outthe lights too, but doesnt have a clue what is going on.

Christmas Traditions... 12/3/2008

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year! I seriously love it! For our family we have already started our own little set of traditions that our children will grow with and celebrate each year.
We have an Advent Calendar that each day I fill with a little task for our family to do. It could be something as simple as sing Christmas Songs or as Busy as go get a Christmas Tree. Its just a fun way to count down to the *Big Day*
We build a ginger bread house.... it looks just like the one on the box :) We made a gingerbread house, well, actually I made a gingerbread house while Brynn cried for Candy...I let her have one gummy and she was hooked. Don't worry, I held my ground!
Every year we take a Christmas card picture. Chad and I have taken one each year since we have been engaged. I save each picture in a special album that comes out only at Christmas. I like to send my cards out the first week in December each year. This year, Brynn helped me address some envelopes...whether I wanted her to or not.
Christmas lights: At night on the weekends, we will jump in the car and drive around to look at the best Christmas light displays at peoples houses. Its so much fun! Brynn loves checking out the lights and when we leave the houses she says "Where did it go?" as is where are the lights? So cute! And Audrey sleeps so soundly in the car...I wish it where that easy for her to go to sleep at home!

Mommy of 2

I am a Mommy of two. To stand back and realize that is just nuts. Because in so many ways I still don't feel like I am in the adult world...that world I saw my own mom in when I was growing up. Despite having a mortgage, career, 401K, car payments, household chores that come with NO ALLOWANCE, and oh yeah: two children I need to care for and some how raise into adults...I still feel very non-tied down and young...which I think is a good thing.

I have been a mommy of 2 for 4 weeks to the day. And let me tell you: the adjustment has been a tough one...its one that I still struggle with everyday. But everyday gets easier...I have basically had to morph the mommy that I am. I have had to change the way I eat, change the way I get in the car, change the way I shower. I have had to be cognisent of my own behavior and the way I react to my toddlers seemingly new found needyness. I am no longer the person I was 4 weeks ago, nor am I the person I was yesterday. Everyday I am slowly morphing into this "mommy of two" as I adjust and change to adapt to my new "habitat"

New Blog...

I have been wanting to start a new blog for a long time...but this time...I want to keep it more *private* which is a funny word on the internet. I guess what I mean is Anaymous???? I don't know...I just want a place where I can blog about my life without having to think about the adience (ex: "is my MIL going to find away to take offense to this", etc, etc)

Anyways. Here it is my new blog. I have been holding all this crap in my head and I cant wait to spew it into words in this blog...all things on being me...aka: Mommy.

enjoy
