For the last couple of months, we have been in the "Why?" Phase.
Most parents get tired of the Why phase rather quickly, I however love this stage. I remember when my little sister (who started high school this week: EEK!) went through this phase...I find it enjoyable because really, if you think about it, there really is an answer why to everything. SO I find it more of a mind challenge game to see who can be outlasted first: Me, or Brynn.
Here was todays round as I drove Brynn home from school:
Brynn: What was that noise?
Kris: We drove over the train tracks
B: Why?
K: Because it was in the way?
B: Why?
K: Because thats where they layed the tracks
B: Why?
K: that was the best route for the train to take
B: Why?
K: Because the planners decided it
B: Why
K: because they had fancy degrees
B: Why
K: Because they wanted good jobs
B: Why
K: to make good money
B: Why
K: To afford nice things for their kids
B: Why
K: Because kids are expensive
B: Why
K: actually I think I lost this round...
...okay, you get the point...
it continues until either I give up and say "I dont know why" or Brynn just stops saying "Why"...it can seriously go on like this for quite some time and its funny the path it will take from Why Dakota peed on the floor to Why its hip to be square. Its kinda like 6 degrees of seperation...
gotta love this age. good times.
