Giggidy Giggidy Giggidy! I feel GREAT!
Yesterday I went through my house like a mad woman armed with garbage bags and threw away (recycling when I could) TEN bags of trash from my house. Just absolute crap.
A.MAZE.ING.
I cannot believe how much stuff this house was holding. And still is, I might add.
the room with by far the most crap were the bathrooms: 1/8th full shampoo, conditioner, lotion bottles. expired vitamins and medicine. I think about 10 of those infant Motrin and Tylenol syringes. Empty cleaner bottles, old sponges, empty makeup. old bath toys. Hotel shampoo, lotion, soaps. You name it.
I also went through the girls toys and got rid of "happy meal" level toys, like a single toy poodle, or those 2 blocks left from a set of 20 (what happened to the other 18 I do not know), those toys that neither girl ever got into.
clothes is a tough one. Because you always have that "welllll, I might need this again" in the back of your head...Chad had a whole shelf of clothes he hadn't touched in a couple years. So I went over and just threw them all in a bag for donation without even looking...okay, I admit I pulled out a few items. But other then that...its outa here! I also have a few bags of the girls clothes, but we are saving that for a garage sale.
I am feeling better about the move already.
The garage is a whole nother ball game...Chad is really going to have to work on it. There is just so.much.stuff.
Today I am going to costco to buy some of those vacuum storage bags for our extra linens and pillows.
Anyways I highly recommend the purge: good for the body and soul...even if you aren't moving...you will feel so much better afterwards!

FYI we bought those 18 gallon plastic containers at home depot for 3.44 to move stuff in. That way we could use them for other stuff later and it would be organized :O)
Congrats on the new place.
